17 spots identified as high accident areas on Hyderabad to Vijayawada NH-65.

Hyderabad: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has pinpointed 17 accident-prone locations on NH-65, spanning from Hyderabad to Vijayawada.

Hyderabad : The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has pinpointed 17 accident-prone locations on NH-65, spanning from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. State Roads and Buildings minister Komati reddy Venkat Reddy convened a meeting with NHAI and department officials to assess road safety on the state's national highways. These 17 identified areas on NH-65 witness heavy traffic flow regularly and have been designated as black spots.

They include Chautuppal, Pedakaparti, Chityal, Kattangur, Iynupamula, Techmatla, SV College Janagam X Road, Eenadu Junction, Durajpalli Junction, Mukundapuram, Akupamula, Komarabanda X Road, Katakammagudem, Mellacheruvu, Srirangapuram, Ramapuram X Road, and Nawabpet Junction. NHAI has observed a high occurrence of road accidents in these areas.

The State government is implementing measures to enhance safety in these black spots by installing signage, upgrading certain sections to six-lane roads, improving junctions, constructing vehicle underpasses (VUPs), and developing two-way service roads. The minister emphasized that these initiatives will be promptly executed to reduce accidents.
