4 Arrested for MDMA worth Rs 6.50 lakh seized in Mangaluru.

In Mangaluru, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) apprehended four individuals and confiscated 270 grams of MDMA valued at Rs.6.50 lakh in Deralakatte. Acting on intelligence regarding illicit transportation of MDMA from Bengaluru to Mangaluru, Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal confirmed the seizure.

The arrested individuals are Mohammed Ameen Rafi (23yrs) from Bejai, Mohammed Sinan Abdulla (23yrs) from Addoor, Mohammed Nauman (22yrs) from Bunder, and Mohammed Safeel (23yrs) from Boliyar. Along with the arrests, law enforcement recovered four mobile phones, a car, and a digital weighing scale, totaling Rs.14.85 lakh in value. The case has been filed at the CEN station.

The Commissioner disclosed that the detainees were procuring drugs from Bengaluru and distributing them to the public and students in Karnataka and Kerala. Further investigations are underway to track down additional individuals involved in the operation. The arrested individuals were reportedly selling drugs to sustain a lavish lifestyle.

Mohammed Ameen Rafi, one of the detainees, was implicated in an NDPS case at Mangaluru South Station in 2021. Under the supervision of CCB ACP Geetha Kulkarni, CCB Inspector Shyam Sundar H, PSI Sharanappa Bhandary, and other officers carried out the raid.
