Cyclone Remal struck West Bengal and Mizoram state in Northeast India. Reports indicate that 15 individuals perished in landslides across Aizawl district of Mizoram. It is reported that 11 people were trapped beneath the crevasses. Mizoram Chief Minister Lal Duhoma confirmed the death toll as 11 by 11:15 am today.

Eleven bodies were recovered from the rubble in Melathun and other regions of Aizawl district, with search operations ongoing. Chief Minister Lal Duhoma announced a relief fund of Rs 15 crore for rescue efforts, with aid for the deceased's families to be announced today. The storm's impact is subsiding, but the information collection is challenging due to signal system failures. The state government approved Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia for the deceased families.

Due to severe weather, the state government closed all schools, banks, financial institutions, public sector undertakings, and essential service government offices. Private sector employees are encouraged to work from home when feasible. Cyclone Remal also impacted Assam and Meghalaya in Northeast India. The storm washed away the road between Haflong and Silchar in Assam, disrupting communication.

The cyclone made landfall in the southern coastal areas of West Bengal, causing damage to about 15,000 houses in 24 divisions and 79 municipal wards. Additionally, 2,140 trees and 337 electricity poles fell due to the storm. Government employees are assessing the storm's damage in affected areas.
