Prime Minister Hasina expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for inviting her, marking her first bilateral visit abroad since Bangladesh’s 12th Parliamentary Elections. She emphasized India as a significant neighbor, trusted friend, and crucial regional partner, emphasizing the enduring bond established during Bangladesh’s War of Liberation in 1971.
The recent years have witnessed significant high-level engagements between the two countries, with both leaders engaging in discussions covering various areas like politics, security, trade, connectivity, and regional cooperation.
Prime Minister Hasina shared a forward-looking approach towards bilateral relations, aiming for a smart Bangladesh by 2041 and a developed India by 2047. Her visit also includes meetings with the Vice President and President of India to strengthen bilateral ties further.
