In the Lok Sabha constituencies of Maval, Pune, and Shirur, these regulations will be effective from 6 pm on May 11 to 6 pm on May 13, and throughout June 4. To ensure a fair and peaceful environment for the Lok Sabha elections in Pune district, the District Collector has mandated a dry period starting 48 hours prior to each polling phase and on the vote counting day. This directive includes a ban on the sale of all alcoholic beverages. Polling in Maval, Pune, and Shirur Lok Sabha constituencies is scheduled for May 13.
In line with this, measures have been implemented to halt the sale of liquor and related licenses until the evening of May 13. These restrictions will continue until 6 pm on that day and for the entirety of June 4. All license holders for domestic and foreign liquor production within the electoral district must comply during this period. Sales of alcohol to license holders in dry areas are prohibited. Any violations of these orders will result in strict actions as per the Maharashtra Liquor Prohibition Act of 1949 and the Representation of the People Act of 1951.
