In North Bengaluru's Srirampura, a 45-year-old man has been apprehended in connection with a murder case involving a mutilated body discovered near a garbage heap. Vittal R. alias Pandu was arrested by the Srirampura police for purportedly killing his acquaintance Dilip following a financial dispute. Dilip's remains were located on railway department premises three days post the incident. The Hoysala police stumbled upon a decomposed body, believed to be of a man in his thirties, during a routine patrol on May 1st.
Despite investigation, the authorities could not identify the deceased individual as no missing person report had been lodged. Nevertheless, a postmortem examination unveiled numerous stab wounds and severe head injuries on the body. Subsequently, a murder case was registered, and a through investigation was launched. After scrutinizing CCTV footage and other technical evidence in the vicinity, the suspect, Vittal, was taken into custody.
Law enforcement officials disclosed that Vittal admitted to the killing during interrogation. According to the police, Vittal and Dilip shared a longstanding friendship. Trouble brewed between them when Vittal lent Rs.20,000 to Dilip, anticipating prompt repayment. However, Dilip avoided settling the debt, which led to a heated confrontation in April.
Following, an exchange of words wherein Dilip allegedly insulted Vittal, the enraged Vittal orchestrated Dilip's demise. He lured Dilip to a meeting point near a dump yard on railway property, where he assaulted him with chilli powder before fatally stabbing him multiple times. Vittal then resorted to smashing Dilip's head in an attempt to conceal his identity.
