Former chief minister Basavaraj Bommai expressed confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, affirming that Modi possesses the political acumen to navigate challenging situations in the country. Bommai stated that most allies are likely to trust Modi's leadership to propel the nation forward. Following his victory in the Haveri Lok Sabha seat, Bommai met with BJP veteran B S Yediyurappa and state president B Y Vijayendra in the city.

While acknowledging that the party may not have achieved the desired nationwide results, Bommai emphasized that the public's faith in Modi remains strong. He highlighted that people still believe in Modi's ability to handle any situation, with allies also placing their trust in his leadership. Bommai confidently asserted that Modi's third term as Prime Minister is highly probable, citing the support of NDA allies such as Bihar CM Nitish Kumar-led JD(U) and Andhra Pradesh CM-designate Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP.

Bommai praised Modi for his distinctive approach to politics, citing his adept handling of challenges like the Gujarat riots and securing consecutive majority wins for the BJP. He also criticized the I.N.D.I.A bloc, suggesting that the Congress' reliance on alliance partners rather than individual party performance hindered its ability to surpass the BJP in seat count.
