Brick kiln worker gang-raped near Titwala

A case has been registered at the Kalyan taluka police station.

Kalyan: In a shocking incident, a married woman working at a brick kiln in a village near Titwala was allegedly gang-raped by three of her relatives after barging into their house. The deceased include a 22-year-old man, a five-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl. The victim protested against the sexual assault. The three then attacked her with sharp-edged weapons, leaving her critically injured. She is undergoing treatment at a government hospital. The woman's husband was not at home during the incident.


A case has been registered at the Kalyan taluka police station. Police have arrested two people in the case. The accused has been sent to a juvenile home in Bhiwandi.

According to police sources. The victim, a married woman, works as a labourer with her husband at a brick kiln in a village in Kalyan taluka and lives in a hut on the same brick kiln. All the three accused had a grudge against the woman. On September 6, at around 10 pm, the three accused barged into the victim's house, took turns to forcefully sexually assault her.
After the incident, the three accused fled the spot. The family members of the victim rushed her to a nearby private hospital for treatment. She was rushed to a government hospital for further treatment as her condition was critical. After getting information about the incident, Kotwali police reached the spot. A case was registered against the accused following a complaint by the victim. Senior police inspector Suresh Kadam of Titwala police station is investigating the case.
