A businessman has been duped of Rs 4.5 crore by promising him a return of up to 20 per cent per month if he invests in a tender pretending to be a director in the Ministry of Heavy Industries. (Cheating Fraud Case)

A few days later, he was appointed Director in the Ministry of Heavy Industries. 10 crore 58 lakh 50 thousand rupees were taken from the complainant for investment. In fact, this amount was not invested in the tender, nor was it used for obtaining trade licenses and vendor codes of the companies. In order to gain the confidence of the plaintiff, a total of 4 crore 75 lakh 65 thousand rupees were initially given as profit, 2 crore 50 lakh rupees, 2 crore 25 lakh rupees. Also, a total of Rs 6.17.15 crore has been refunded against the principal amount of Rs 1.16 crore and Rs 25.50 lakh as per the MoU. The remaining Rs 4 crore 41 lakh 35 thousand and the refund amount was not returned. The case is being investigated by Assistant Police Inspector Satyawan Bhuyarkar.
