A US M4 rifle and three bags of explosives were recovered from the site of the encounter. Meanwhile, on the eve of Independence Day, meetings are being held on the terrorist incidents in the capital Delhi and the intelligence agencies have been ordered to be on alert.

Quoting intelligence inputs, a source said, "Two unidentified persons with arms and ammunition were recently found moving in a village bordering Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir. The possibility of them moving to the nearby town of Pathankot cannot be ruled out.
