Hyderabad: Crime against women is on the rise in the city. A few days ago, a young woman was raped in Kolkata. Two minor girls were allegedly raped in Maharashtra's Badlapur district. A Class 12 student was allegedly raped by the driver of a school bus in Chandigarh. The accused, identified as Mohammad Razzaq, has been arrested by the Chandigarh Police.
According to the Hindustan Times, the accused had been trying to blackmail her by showing her morphed photos for the past few days. He went to her house and raped her three times. Finally, the girl informed the matter to her parents. Following a complaint by the girl's parents, the accused was arrested by the police. A case has been registered against him under the rape and POCSO Act.
The victim told the police that the accused had been trying to befriend her for the past few months. Meanwhile, he also tried to threaten her by morphing her photo. He threatened the girl that he would make the picture public if she did not befriend him. He also forced her into a relationship.
The accused first entered the girl's house on May 18 when her parents were not at home. He also threatened the girl that he would make her morphed picture public if she did not have physical relations with him. After this, he again went to her house twice on July 6 and July 26 and sexually assaulted her.
Police said the accused has been arrested and further probe in the matter is underway. Meanwhile, the Chandigarh education department has issued a notification in this regard. We have registered a case and the accused has been arrested.
