TDN

Naxals have killed two villagers in a remote village in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on suspicion of being police informers. A special police team has been formed to investigate the case, a senior police officer said. The Naxals had abducted three villagers, including a school student, from Jappemarka village under Mirtur police station limits on Tuesday. A 'jan adalat' was then held and the two were hanged from a tree, the official said, adding that the schoolboy was let off. The deceased have been identified as Madvi Suja and Podiyam Kosa.

The Bhairamgarh Area Committee of the Maoists claimed responsibility for the killing and claimed that the two were working as "police informers."
