Dombivli : The names of voters who had voted in Kalyan-Dombivli towns for the past several years disappeared from the voter list during this Lok Sabha election. Political officials have expressed the possibility that there are around one lakh names whose names have disappeared from the list. Due to the negligence of the Election Commission, many voters were deprived of their right to vote.

Adv. Sandesh Prabhudesai, a professional in Dombivli, against this working method of the Election Commission. Mangesh Kusurkar is going to file a petition in the Bombay High Court.

From the last thirty years, we have voted periodically in the Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha, Municipal elections at the polling station at Sagaon in Dombivli. This time, when we went to the polling station, we found that the names of our family members were there and our own names were missing. The election staff could not provide any valid reason why the name was missing from the electoral roll.

Due to the error of the Election Commission, you were deprived of voting in the Lok Sabha elections. It is reported that around one lakh citizens of Kalyan, Dombivli area like us have been deprived of voting. On one hand, the government, the Election Commission tries to increase the voter turnout. On the other hand lakhs of names disappear from the voter list.

This is unfair to voting citizens. Therefore, on behalf of the voters, we filed a Public Interest Litigation against the Election Commission within two days in Bombay High Court. Prabhudesai said that we are filing through Kusurkar.
