Thane: The number of cybercrimes has increased in the Thane police commissionerate area over the last few years. After the fraud, there was a question of where to complain to the citizens. Often, the complainant had to travel from the police station to the headquarters, from the headquarters to the police station. Due to this problem, the complainant did not come forward. There was a demand for a cyber police station in the Thane Commissionerate area due to the increase in citizenization. A police station has been set up.

The police station has been built near the headquarters of the Thane Police Commissionerate. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is likely to inaugurate the police station soon. The opening of the police station will bring great relief to the citizens. The new police station will have a staff of 30 to 40 officers, including an officer of the rank of inspector. The process of appointing them is underway.
Over the years, the population of Thane district has increased significantly. Crime has also increased. Cyber crime cases are increasing these days. Fraud in the name of the stock market, emptying a bank account by sending a link to a mobile, financial fraud by giving an online 'task' are the highest increase in such cases. The number of young people in the information technology sector is also high. There is no separate police station for cybercrime complaints in the Thane Police Commissionerate area.

The cyber cell is located on the fourth floor of the Thane police headquarters. But there is no crime here. When citizens come to the cyber cell, they have to register a case at the place where the crime took place. You have to go to the police station. Even after going to the police station, many people come there to file complaints. Hence, the victim has to be careful. Due to the visits of the cyber cell and the police station, the cheated person often hesitates to file a complaint.


There are cyber police stations in certain areas of the state. Bhiwandi and Badlapur police stations fall under the Thane city police commissionerate. According to the population of the commissionerate, there was a demand to make a cyber police stationavailable here as well. For a few months, the construction of the Thane City Cyber Police Station was going on in a barren area of the police headquarters. The construction of the police station is almost complete. Chief Minister Eknath Shindewill inaugurate the cyber police station soon.

What will happen to the police force?
If a cyber police station is created, citizens will be able to file complaints of online frauds directly to this cyber police station. Earlier, a case was registered at the local police station. Many such cases are pending in the police stations. The police are also under pressure due to cybercrimes. That's why cyber crimes are on the rise. With the creation of cyber police stations, the pendency of these crimes has been reduced. The new cyber police station will have a police inspector rank officer, along with 30 to 40 other police officers and staff.
