Bhubaneswar - Sucharita Mohanty, the candidate of the Congress party in Puri Lok Sabha, has refused to dispute the election, professing that she isn't getting finances from the party. He also returned the party's nomination. Sucharita, daughter of former Congress MP Brajmohan Mohanty, transferred one-mail to the Congress general secretary on Friday claiming that the campaign in Puri Lok Sabha constituency had suffered a major blow due to the denial of funds. Mohanty contended that Odisha Congress in- charge Ajoy Kumar had easily asked him to campaign at his own expense. I was a professional journalist who entered politics 10 years ago

. I've tried to collect donations to support progressive politics, but so far it has had little success. Being unfit to collect funds, all the elderly leaders including the central leadership of the party were approached to get funds for effective campaigning in Puri Lok Sabha constituency. It's clear that we're far from palm in Puri only because of lack of finances. Indeed if the candidature is returned, I'll remain a pious Congress worker and Rahul Gandhi is our leader, he said.

Speaking to the media, Mohanty said that I was denied funds by the party. Weak candidates have been given tickets in the assembly constituencies of Puri Lok Sabha constituency. Bharatiya Janata Party and Biju Janata Dal have huge money. National Spokesperson Sambit Patra is querying for BJP from Puri Lok Sabha and former Mumbai Police Commissioner Arun Patnaik is querying for BJD.

Funds will be disbursed only when the candidate starts campaigning and contesting seriously. It has been alleged that Mohanty didn't give funds before entering the election arena. The party has decided to change the Puri Lok Sabha candidate and has sent such a proposal to the seniors. – Ajoy Kumar, Odisha Congress in- charge.
