During the first week of the Chardham Yatra, Kedarnath Dham set a new record this year with over two lakh visitors within eight days of its opening. The Dham is crowded with devotees all day, with long queues stretching from the helipad to the temple and a significant number of devotees on the pedestrian route. Since the Dham's doors opened, the total number of visitors has surpassed two lakh 17 thousand.

A record-breaking 29,030 devotees visited the Dham at Kapatdoghatan, and the number of devotees continues to rise. On May 11th, 22,599 devotees had darshan. The average daily visitors to Baba in Kedarnath exceeded 26 thousand during the first week of the Yatra. The Dham saw a significant crowd on Friday, with devotees lining up as early as 4 o'clock, extending to Astha Path.

Due to the increasing crowd, devotees were given darshan from the Sabha Mandap. The Yatra began on April 25, 2023, with 116,108 Shiva devotees visiting the Dham by the eighth day, in contrast to 151,970 visitors by the same day in 2022. Ramesh Chandra Tiwari, the Executive Officer of the Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, noted the higher-than-expected number of devotees this year, leading to religious darshan being conducted from the Sabha Mandap.
