The Democracy News : Heat and heat waves in Delhi-NCR continue to persist. While the days are hot and humid, nights have brought rain, possibly due to the rising minimum temperatures. The past two days have seen minimum temperatures exceeding 32 degrees, a significant five degrees above the usual norm.

Saturday marked a scorching high of 44.6 degrees Celsius in Delhi, a notable six degrees above average, with Pitampura recording the highest temperature at 46.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 34.1 degrees Celsius. This year's minimum temperature has surpassed previous years, such as in 2018 where it ranged around 33-34 degrees. The relentless heat shows no signs of easing.

Forecasting a further surge in temperatures from June 16 to 18, the weather department anticipates maximum temperatures reaching 45 degrees and minimum temperatures hovering between 32 and 34 degrees. Strong winds at 30-40 km per hour are predicted during the day, intensifying the heat conditions.

Some respite is expected on June 20 with forecasts of thunderstorms and light rain, leading to a slight drop in temperatures to 42 degrees maximum and 33 degrees minimum.
