Drivers on the Kiratpur-Nerchowk four-lane road must now exercise caution if they are speeding. Going forward, traffic fines will only be issued online. The Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS) installed by the police at various locations will now be fully operational starting this Saturday. A speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour has been set for the four-lane road. Several months ago, the police implemented the ITMS to ensure compliance with the speed limit.
Initially operating on a trial basis, the system will now be operational on a regular basis from this Saturday. It has been set up near Tunnel No. 1, Kainchi Mod, Mandi Bharari Chowk, Auhar, and Tunnel Char Tehra. The system will consistently enforce violations of the Motor Vehicles Act, such as exceeding the speed limit of 60 kilometers per hour, not wearing a helmet, not using a seat belt, and triple riding.
ASP Shiv Chaudhary emphasized the importance of drivers adhering to traffic regulations to prevent any loss of life or property. The Bilaspur Police are committed to serving the community.
