'Health centres must be equipped to diagnose cancer'

Early detection is essential to prevent cancer. But for this, all primary health centres in the country need to be empowered.

Mumbai: The government is making efforts at various levels to ensure timely diagnosis of cancer. Since patients seek treatment at primary health centres after experiencing the initial symptoms of cancer, there are many difficulties in the timely diagnosis of the disease. Therefore, cancer experts have expressed the need to empower primary health centres in the country for timely diagnosis.


The cancer can be completely cured. But it needs to be diagnosed early. Early detection is essential to prevent cancer. But for this, all primary health centres in the country need to be empowered. The former director of Tata Hospital, Dr. "Anil D'Cruz said.

The Cancer Care Center
There are about 200 types of cancer. Out of one lakh cancer patients, six patients get this type of cancer. These include cancers such as sarcoma, skin cancer, pregnancy cancer, hereditary cancer, and neuroendocrine tumours. If the cancer is diagnosed at an early stage, it is easier to treat and cure the patient. The European Society of Medical Oncology is planning to set up more cancer care centres in Europe and Asia to treat these rare cancers. Vajpayee said.
