Pune : Political tensions in the state have intensified following the Kalyani Nagar Accident case. Accusations are flying between Ravindra Dhangekar, leader of Mahavikas Aghadi in Pune, and Murlidhar Mohol, leader of Mahayuti BJP Candidate. Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi leader Vasant More has now entered the fray, questioning if night life is restricted to Koregaon Park.
After the accident, the minor suspect was released within hours under certain conditions, sparking outrage. Subsequently, the police filed a new case against the minor under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act for drunk driving. Pune police persuaded the court that the minor was intoxicated at the time of the accident. The court overturned its previous ruling, ordering the minor to be held in a juvenile detention center for 14 days.
In response, Vasant More strongly criticized the situation in a Facebook post. More lamented the unfortunate incident in Koregaon Park and criticized the political dynamics surrounding it. He called for attention to be paid to the night life in Kothrud and other areas like Bhugaon and Pirangut in Mulshi. He urged leaders to consider the NIBM Kondhwa area as well, warning of potential consequences if action is not taken against those involved in night life activities.
More emphasized the need for the police to focus not only on Koregaon Park but on the entirety of Pune, cautioning against a potential upheaval by the marginalized Bahujan Aghadi due to the corrupt system.
