Congress leaders from Jogulamba Gadwal district wrote to chief secretary Santhi Kumari on Thursday, accusing Valluru Kranthi, a former district collector during the BRS government, of significant land and revenue irregularities. They called for an investigation into the alleged corruption to ensure justice for affected farmers.

The leaders claimed that Kranthi, in collusion with BRS officials, profited greatly by manipulating revenue records and channeling bribe money through her father, Dr. Venkata Ranga Reddy, who was a superintendent at Kurnool Government Hospital. Specifically, they alleged that Kranthi removed 39 acres of land in survey number 156 of Peddatandrapadu village and Bhudaan Board’s lands in survey numbers 45 and 46 in Induvasi village from the prohibited list in revenue records in 2023.

Additionally, they claimed that 400 acres of land in Kunicherla village under the Ghattu lift irrigation scheme, previously unrecorded, were fraudulently included in the records by RDO Ramulu and Kranthi after accepting bribes. Furthermore, the complainants stated that disputed land in survey number 268 near Alampur crossroads was unlawfully registered to a false owner by manipulating digital signatures and altering revenue records.

They also alleged that 0.20 acres of land in survey numbers 5 and 6 of Sasanul village in Itikyal mandal, owned by the Waqf Board, were falsely registered under private individuals in the revenue records by Kranthi. It was further alleged that 6 acres of assigned land in survey number 256 in Pullur village near Alampur crossroads, as well as Bhoodaan/Waqf lands in the area, were registered under private individuals' names and allotted by Kranthi in exchange for large sums of money.
