After the reconstruction of the Gokhale Bridge, the Mumbai Municipal Corporation lately completed the grueling task of lifting the portion of the Barfiwala Bridge by a jack and connecting it to the resemblant position of the Gopal Krishna Gokhale Flyover to bridge the gap between the Barfiwala Bridge and the Gokhale Bridge.

After the completion of the concretisation work, the business between Juhu and Andheri will be proceeded from Barfiwala ground on July 1. One side of the Gokhale ground was opened on February 26. still, the position of Barfiwala ground and Gokhale ground in Andheri west had gone up. thus, the ground had to be closed. The communal administration took the help of IIT Bombay and VJTI to connect Gokhale ground and Barfiwala ground. According to the report, the work of levelling the position by pulling some corridor of the ground by installing jacks to connect the two islands is presently underway. The design is listed to be completed by June- end.

The work of Gokhale ground is being carried out under the supervision of Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute(VJTI) and specialized adviser from the Mumbai Municipal Corporation. The external administration has assured that the work is going on as per schedule and business will start easily on these two islands from July 1. In this work. D. After this work, the stability test i.e.' cargo test' will be done on the ground within a period of 24 hours. The ground will also be opened to business.
