Chhattisgarh: Five people, including three women, beaten to death on suspicion of witchcraft ; second incident in a week

A shocking incident has taken place at a village in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district. On Sunday (October 15), a woman was beaten to death along with two couples. According to the police, the murder was committed on the suspicion of witchcraft. A senior police officer said the incident took place in a village under Konta police station limits. The five deceased have been identified as Mausam Kanna (34) and his wife Mausam Biri, Mausam Bucha (34) and his wife Mausam Arju, and another woman, Kaka Lachhi (43).

After questioning the villagers and on the basis of the evidence gathered in the initial stage, the police have arrested five persons identified as Suvagam Rajesh (21), Suvagam Hidma, Karam Satyam (35), Kunjam Mukesh (28) and Podiyam Enka. Police are further investigating into the incident.
