Mumbai Rains: Heavy rain to continue for two more days

Heavy rains have been lashing Mumbai and surrounding areas since morning.

It has been raining in Mumbai and surrounding areas since morning. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai in the next few days.

Heavy rainfall since morning has led to waterlogging in several parts of Mumbai city and suburbs. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Mumbai for the next few days. The city recorded 51.8 mm rainfall till 5:30 am, while the suburbs recorded 27mm rainfall. Since morning, suburban areas of Borivali, Dahisar, Vile Parle, Goregaon, Khar and Bandra have been receiving heavy rainfall.

Malabar Hill, Churchgate, Colaba, Nariman Point areas of the city are also receiving heavy rainfall. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Konkan and Goa. A low-pressure area lies over northwest Bay of Bengal and a low-pressure area lies over southwest Bay of Bengal. Due to the formation of a low-pressure area over Gujarat and adjoining north Kerala coast, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur in some parts of the state in the next two to three days.
