Infiltration of Bangladeshis and Rohingyas for vote-bank politics was encouraged by the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) -led coalition government. These infiltrators have become a major threat to Santhal Parganas and Kolhan regions. The population of these areas is rapidly changing and the tribal population is declining. At the BJP's' Parivartan Rally 'at Gopal Maidan in Jharkhand, Prime Minister Narendra Modi alleged that every resident of the state was feeling unsafe.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive in Jamshedpur by helicopter on Sunday. But due to bad weather, his helicopter could not take off and he had to go to Jamshedpur by road. Addressing the rally, he further said that the government in Jharkhand is supporting infiltrators. Illegal immigrants from neighbouring countries have increased their influence over the ruling party in the state. The High Court has ordered the formation of an independent panel to look into the infiltration of Bangladeshi immigrants in the state. Modi, however, criticised the Jharkhand government for refusing to acknowledge the infiltration.

JMM, Congress and RJD are the main political parties in the fray. Modi accused the BJP of indulging in vote bank politics. The Congress has always hated the state and prevented its tribals from joining the mainstream. Modi said the RJD was still avenging the creation of Jharkhand.

The BJP has a special relationship with Jharkhand and has a big contribution in the formation of a separate state.

Accusing the BJP government of deliberately keeping the tribal youth away from education, Modi claimed that it had brought special schemes to provide them education and jobs.
