Pune : Man duped of Rs 20 lakh on pretext of buying gold

Kothrud Pune Crime News: A 64-year-old senior citizen was cheated of Rs 20 lakh on the pretext of getting more profit from the business of buying and selling gold (Cheating Fraud Case). It will be held in Kothrud from October 2023 to December 2023. A case has been booked against the man.

The 64-year-old man, who lives in Erandwane, died on Tuesday. He has been handed over to Alankar police station. According to Mayur Phadke (Ra. Sections 406 and 420 of the IPC. According to the police, the accused Mayur and the complainant got acquainted in October 2023. At that time, Mayur said he was in the business of buying and selling gold.

The complainant believed that he was getting more profit from the gold-buying and selling business. The complainant was then asked to invest in the business of buying and selling gold on the pretext that he would earn more profit from it. The accused had lent Rs.20 lakh to the man. After receiving the money, Mayur Phadke cheated the complainant by not returning the profit or the amount taken.

When the complainant repeatedly asked for money, he refused. On realising that he has been duped, the senior citizen lodged a complaint with the police. Fraud on the pretext of making profits in cryptocurrencies.
