Thief Arrested for Stealing Gold Ornaments from Ganesh Temple in Shivaji Nagar, Pune

Shivaji Nagar, Pune - Crime News : In a swift response to a brazen theft, the Shivajinagar police have apprehended a man accused of stealing gold ornaments and cash from a local temple. The suspect, identified as 46-year-old Sachin Digambar Varhade, a resident of Ganpati in the Kasba Peth area, is now facing charges related to the crime.

The incident, which has shocked the community, occurred between 9:15 PM and 9:30 AM on September 15. A complaint was filed by 25-year-old Pranav Memane at the Shivaji Nagar police station, detailing the loss of valuables from the Shivajinagar Ganesh Mandal and the Shivaji Mitra Mandal Trust. The total amount stolen was reported to be Rs 5,500. Acting on the complaint, the police reviewed CCTV footage from the surrounding area, leading to the identification and amount stolenof Varhade based on technical evidence.

The investigation is ongoing, with the Jadavpur police collaborating to uncover any additional details regarding the theft. As the community reels from this violation, local authorities have reiterated the importance of vigilance and security measures, especially around places of worship.
