Western road collects Rs.38 crore in forfeitures for ticketless trippers Rs.38 crore.

In April, May 2024, a number of ticket checking drives were carried out by Ticket Checking outfits under the supervision of elderly professional officers of Western Railway. Through this, Rs.38 crore was collected in the two months of April and May by catching ticketless passengers on Western road.

During the month of May 2024,Rs.17.19 crore was recovered by arresting 2.80 lakhnon-ticketing/ irregular passengers along with unreserved baggage. piecemeal from this, in May, Western Railway detected one lakh cases in the Mumbai suburban section and collected a forfeiture of Rs.4.71 crore.

The ticket checking drive was carried out by the Bharari platoon to catch the ticketless passengers in the air- conditioned original. As numerous as 8,500 passengers were penalised during the April- May period. A forfeiture of Rs.29 lakh was also assessed on him.
