Is Bangladesh a threat to India? The threat of terrorist organizations has increased.

Bangladesh plunged into a political crisis after Sheikh Hasina's Awami League swept to power. According to the intelligence agencies, this poses a threat to India. The law and order situation in Bangladesh has deteriorated after the student protests. Hindu minorities are being targeted. It is suspected to be the handiwork of a terrorist organisation.

According to sources, Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba has joined hands with Bangladesh-based Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) to carry out terrorist activities in the northeastern states. Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI has also played an important role in the coup in Bangladesh. The report also said that the ISI was in direct contact with the Jamaat-e-Islami and other organisations, including the ABT.


Lashkar-e-Taiba and ABT had formed an alliance in 2022 to establish a base in Bangladesh to carry out terrorist activities in India. In 2022, Hindu-majority areas in Tripura were targeted after reports of a mosque being vandalised. In the same year, 50 to 100 militants of ABT were trying to infiltrate into Tripura. Some ABT men were also arrested in Assam for planning to carry out terrorist activities.

At present, there are nine major militant groups operating in Bangladesh. १. Ansarullah Bangla Team, 2. Ansar al-Islam, 3) Lashkar-e-Taiba, 4) Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami Bangladesh, 5) Jagrata Muslim Janata Bangladesh, 6) Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh, 7) Purba Banglar Communist Party, 8) Islami Chhatra Shibir and 9) Islamic State are currently active in Bangladesh.


Bangladesh's former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had good relations with India. That is why the work of controlling these organizations was done during their rule. However, the violence that erupted through the movement to abolish 30 per cent reservation in government jobs is also suspected to be the handiwork of extremist organizations.
