Pranjali

Uran: The fish that used to be unloaded at the British-era Sassoon and Bhaucha Dhakka port in Mumbai has now been bought and sold at Uran's Karanja port in Karanja. Independence Day. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp by Mahesh Baladi. Local fishermen were present on the occasion. Therefore, instead of Mumbai, a new place has become available for consumers to get wholesale and cheap fish.

Fishermen associations and fishermen have appealed to people to come to the Karanja port of Uran if they want to buy fish. With a partnership of 150 crore rupees between the central and the state government, the Karanja port has started with the arrangement of buying and selling fish by parking 750 fishing boats at the same time in Karanja.

Due to the new season, fishing boats will start arriving every day after Narali Poornima. Therefore, the fishermen in this port are happy. Baladi said that a fund of Rs 154 crore will be sanctioned soon for the remaining works of Karanja Port and then the work of the port will be completed. But before that, he promised to make temporary arrangements through the Fisheries Department for the purchase and sale of fish. This will provide employment to many. He said that in future, Karanja port will be the nearest port to Mumbai due to the Karanja-Revas sea bridge.

It was difficult to deal with fish in Mumbai's Sassoon Dock. Due to the increasing crowd in that place, the fishermen had to go to the distant Kasara port and sell the fish. Now this facility will be available at the Karanja port itself, which will facilitate employment and sale of fish. - Pradeep Nakhwa, President, Karanja Fishermen's Society
Karanja port has started and the young fishermen here have started their own fish export business. Similarly, this port will also provide various types of businesses to the locals. - Ganesh Nakhwa, Young Fishermen Leader
