Davangere-based contractor, P.S. Goudar, aged 48, reportedly committed suicide due to a family property dispute and alleged non-payment of bills for his completed works in Santebennur, Channagiri taluk, earlier this week. His suicide note, outlining these reasons, has placed the state government in a difficult situation. In the note, Goudar accused his elder brother, G.S. Nagaraj, his younger brother, Goudar Sreenivas, and the Karnataka Rural Infrastructure Development Limited (KRIDL) Davangere for his death.
He claimed that his elder brother had caused him financial and mental stress, despite receiving a pension of over Rs 1 lakh, as he was unwilling to share ancestral property. Goudar also alleged that his younger brother, Goudar Sreenivas, along with his wife, D.C. Indumathi, and her father, Chitrashekharappa, had caused him financial loss and mental anguish.
In the concluding remarks of the suicide note, P.S. Goudar mentioned that although he had completed certain tasks at the department of agriculture office in Santebennur, assigned by KRIDL in February last year, the concerned officials had not settled his bills yet. These circumstances led him to take this drastic step.
