However, the CBI counsel was not present in the court. This was noted by the judge. After this, the CBI lawyers waited for some time but still they did not come. The CBI counsel reached the court after a delay of 40 minutes. Judge Pamela Gupta was furious and asked, "Should he (Sanjay Roy) be granted bail?"CBI questioned him. "It is very unfortunate that the CBI has done this," he said.

Are the parents of the victim blaming the police?
The victim's father lodged a police complaint following the incident. "Police are trying to hush up the case. We were not allowed to see the body and had to wait at the police station till the body was taken for post-mortem. When the body was handed over to us, we were offered money by a senior police officer, but we immediately refused. "
