Petitioner T. एन. Godavarman's ancestors had bought 24 acres of land in Pune. The state government took possession of the land but did not pay compensation to the petitioners. At that time, it was said on behalf of the state government that we have given the land to that person as compensation. In fact, the forest land was given to the person concerned. Following this, the complainants approached the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court asked the state government to file an affidavit in this regard.

'Maharashtra government on high alert'
