Leopard spotted on campus of RIT College in Lohegaon; students, parents panic ; fire brigade called to the spot

The leopard was spotted on the premises of RIT College on Lohgaon-Wadgaon Shinde road. on Monday (d. 12) Panic spread among the citizens when they noticed the presence of a leopard in the college premises in the morning. On being informed about the incident, police and Fire personnel rushed to the spot and initiated rescue operation.
The leopard was spotted by an employee working at a canteen in the college. The news then spread like wildfire. The college administration has decided to close the college. The incident has triggered panic among the students and parents.
There are many trees in the college campus. There is Indrayani river near Vadgaon Shinde village. The leopard is suspected to have entered the college campus from the Indrayani riverbed. After receiving information about the presence of the leopard in the college premises, a team of forest officials rushed to the spot.

Firefighters were called to the scene to investigate. Teams of the fire brigade and forest department conducted a search operation in the area of RIT College. The leopard has not been found, "said Subhash Jadhav, chief of the fire department.
