Fifteen individuals sustained burn injuries when a pile of firecrackers exploded during the Chandan Jatra festival of Lord Jagannath in Puri, Odisha, according to police. The incident occurred on Wednesday night while hundreds of people had assembled on the banks of Narendra Pushkarinee, a waterbody, to observe the rituals.
Devotees were participating in the festival's celebrations with firecrackers when a fragment from one of the ignited crackers hit the pile, triggering the explosion.
