On Tuesday night, An elevator collapse occurred at Hindustan Copper Limited's Kolihan mine in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan when the elevator chain broke, resulting in 14 individuals being trapped overnight. Rescue operations were initiated promptly, and after 11 hours, all 14 people were safely evacuated in the morning.

The elevator chain broke as senior officials and a vigilance team of Hindustan Copper Limited were ascending from the Kolihan mine, leading to the 14 individuals being stranded in the deep mine. They were freed after a night-long rescue operation and subsequently hospitalized. The accident transpired when the officials and vigilance team were inspecting the mine's operations.

Upon their return from the inspection, the elevator chain malfunctioned, causing them to be trapped in the 1800 feet deep mine. Local authorities swiftly responded, dispatching aid such as food, water, and medicines to the trapped individuals. A medical team was also summoned, and after an intensive 11-hour rescue operation, all 14 individuals were safely rescued and transported to the hospital for treatment. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this incident.
