MP's Murder : to probe Bangladesh police team reaches Kolkata, with Bengal CID.

Anjali

A police team from Bangladesh arrived in Kolkata on Sunday afternoon to investigate the murder of MP Anwarul Azim Anar. They plan to seek cooperation from West Bengal CID and conduct a thorough probe. The team aims to interrogate the arrested suspects, visit Anar's residence in Baranagar, and speak to his friend and landlord.

A senior state CID officer confirmed their willingness to assist the Bangladesh detectives and share all evidence collected regarding the case. The search for the missing MP began when a resident of Baranagar, Gopal Biswas, filed a complaint with the local police on May 18, stating that Anar, who had arrived in Kolkata on May 12 for medical treatment, had disappeared.

According to Biswas, Anar went for a doctor's appointment on May 13 but did not return home as promised. He was reported missing on May 17, leading Biswas to file a complaint the next day. Kolkata Police revealed that circumstantial evidence suggested that the MP was strangled and dismembered before his remains were disposed of in various locations. No traces of his body or body parts have been discovered yet.
