Uttar Pradesh Monsoon Update: The Meteorological Department predicts that monsoon may arrive in Kerala within the next 5 days if conditions remain favorable. Pre-monsoon activities have been ongoing in Kerala for the past week, leading to a significant drop in temperature. Currently, North India is experiencing extreme heat. Monsoon has already reached Andaman and Nicobar Islands, making its way gradually towards other parts of India.

The anticipated arrival date for monsoon in Kerala is May 31 or June 1. If conditions permit, monsoon could reach Uttar Pradesh via Gorakhpur or Varanasi between June 18 and 20. In Lucknow, monsoon showers are expected to commence between June 23 and 25. This year, monsoon is predicted to be on time as opposed to the previous year when it was delayed until June 22 in Uttar Pradesh.

Meteorologists project that the heat wave will persist for another month, with a slight temperature decrease expected in the next two days. Zonal Meteorological Center expert Atul Kumar Singh suggests that westerly winds will prevail for the next two days, followed by relief when easterly winds bring cooler temperatures, especially at night. Residents of Uttar Pradesh are advised to brace themselves for the current heat wave, but relief is on the horizon according to the Meteorological Department.

The arrival of monsoon will bring respite from the heat as temperatures drop with the onset of rain. Until then, people are urged to avoid direct sunlight and increase fluid intake. Caution: Red, orange, and yellow alerts have been issued for several districts in UP: - Red alert: Possibility of intense heat wave in districts including Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Mathura, Hathras, Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Jalaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi, and Lalitpur.
