Notorious criminal Tatya Ghodke arrested with 3 country-made pistols, 9 country-made bombs

Pune: The Walchandnagar police have arrested a notorious criminal for committing robberies, house burglaries, attempt to murder and sand smuggling in the Walchandnagar area of Satara.


Suyash Alias Tatya Ghodke The accused has been identified as Balchandnagar (Labour Colony). The Walchandnagar police have recovered 3 country-made pistols, 10 live cartridges, 9 country-made bombs, a pall-gun, a sword, empty magazines and other weapons from his possession.(Pune Rural Police News)


Tatya Ghodke has 9 serious cases registered against him and no one was coming forward to file a complaint against him as he was creating terror in Baramati area. The then officer-in-charge of Walchandnagar police station, Vikram Salunkhe, made a proposal to detain him under the MPDA through Superintendent of Police Pankaj Deshmukh. It was presented on Suhas Diwas.

The district magistrate had ordered his detention on September 3. However, he was absconding.
While the police were searching for him, constable Shailesh Swami and constable Ganesh Katkar came to know that Tatya was hiding inside his old house by locking it from outside.


Following this, the police cordoned off his house.
He was then arrested and taken back into the house.
A huge cache of arms and ammunition, including 3 country-made pistols with magazines, one empty magazine, 10 live cartridges, 9 country-made bombs, 1 pellet gun, 14 mobile phones, 2 knives and 2 cutters, were recovered from his house.

The operation was conducted under the directions of the city police commissioner, Sandeep Patil and guidance of city police deputy commissioners, Hanumantharaya and Laxmi Ganesh, under the leadership of assistant commissioner of police, Srinivas Gowda and participation of Bajpe police inspector, Parashiva Murthy, Suratkal police inspector, Ramakrishna K G, and other personnel. Sudarshan Rathod. Under the guidance of PI Pawar, PSI Kashinath Mahadule, contable Rohidas Khairnar, Sanjay Nand, Sandeep Tayade, Shaikh Gaffar, Abdul Rehman, Deshraj More, Santosh Sankpal and Abhijeet Gaikwad executed the police action.
