Notorious Criminals Apprehended in PCMC for Extortion Racket

Two men arrested for kidnapping and extortion in Pimpri, with recovered cash and materials worth over 8 lakhs. Accused known for multiple serious crimes.

In a swift operation, the Pimpri Chinchwad (PCMC) police have apprehended two individuals involved in a kidnapping and extortion racket. Balasaheb Baliram Bangar, aged 27, and Pravin Dattatrey Bhalerao, aged 29, both residents of different areas in Pimpri-Chinchwad, were caught near the RTO office at Moshi.

The arrests came after a scrap dealer was kidnapped by the accused and then released upon payment of a substantial amount. The criminals demanded monthly extortion money from the victim, leading to him filing a complaint with the Bhosari Police station. Following the complaint, the PCMC anti-extortion squad acted swiftly, leading to the capture of Bangar and Bhalerao.

During the arrest, police recovered cash amounting to Rs. 1,65,000/-, three mobile phones, and the car used in the crime. The accused have a history of involvement in serious crimes such as kidnapping, murder, and illegal possession of arms according to PCMC police records.
