Pune : On the road leading to Khadki on the old Mumbai Pune Highway, Dual traffic has now started on Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marg. Due to the ongoing metro work and road widening for the once three years, this route had to be single-tracked. This was creating a problem at Khadki main market. That problem has now been removed with the efforts of MLA Siddharth Shirole.

Police Deputy Commissioner Rohidas Pawar of Pune City Traffic Branch has issued orders in this regard. In the meantime, talking to the citizens, taking the original traffic police into confidence, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marg was made double by Shirole for two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Still, all the citizens and the traders had to bear a huge problem in the main market area of Khadki.

Still, double traffic has now started on Elphiston Road from Church Chowk to Bopodi Chowk and from Bopodi Chowk to Khadki Bazar Marg to Holkar Bridge. Also, double traffic is being started on General Thorat Road between Church Chowk and Ayudh Chowk. MLA Siddharth Shirole said, efforts are also being made to speed up the road widening work of the old Pune Mumbai highway.

Now, that the below road has been opened for traffic, the traders and citizens of Khadki market will get relief from the diurnal traffic jams. He added, the metro work has also been completed and the road will be completed soon as the court cleared the way regarding Jai Hind Talkies.

Development works are getting success with the coordination of original citizen police administration. He said that in the last 5 years, Rs.5 crores have been approved for development works in Khadki area and Rs.6 crores in Bopodi area and accordingly numerous works are underway.
