One killed in Mandya due to Heavy rains lash Mysuru.

Mysuru, Mandya, Hassan, and Chamarajanagar districts experienced heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds in the early hours of Tuesday. A young person lost their life, and two others were injured when a large tree branch fell on a car in Mandya city on Monday night. The rain began around 2:00 am in Mysuru district and lasted until dawn, providing relief from the hot weather.

Incidents of tree collapses and power outages were reported in Mysuru city. The deceased, Karthik (27yrs) from G Bommanahalli village in Mandya taluk, was involved in the accident. Sunil and Manju, the injured parties, are currently receiving medical treatment. The car's front section sustained significant damage. It took police and CMC personnel two hours to clear the fallen branch.

The injured individuals were rescued and taken to the hospital. It was revealed that Tuesday (May 7) was Karthik's birthday, and he had gone shopping for clothes with his friends when the incident occurred. Hassan district also received a substantial amount of rain on Tuesday, with areas like Holenarsipur, Arsikere, Halebidu, Javagal, Banavara, and Alur experiencing showers for about 45 minutes.

Arsikere reported rain accompanied by hailstones. In Hassan city, a large tree fell on parked vehicles. Chamarajanagar district also saw considerable rainfall on Tuesday morning.
