President Murmu Highlights Growing Space Debris Concern at National Space Day

President Droupadi Murmu on Friday expressed concern over the issue of space debris. Space debris is increasing as numerous satellites are being launched into space, she said. The President also complimented ISRO for setting a target to make future space missions garbage-free by 2030.

He was speaking at the first National Space Day celebrations to mark the first anniversary of the launch of India's Chandrayaan-3 project. Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman S Somanath and engineers and scientists were present at the event held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
