A 19-year-old man allegedly attempted to rape a class 7 student of a school in Pune's Bhavani Peth on August 15. The police have arrested a youth in connection with the case. The accused has been identified as Devraj Padam Agri (19).
The victim's mother filed a case in this connection. According to the police, the accused Devraj Padam Agri and the victim are studying in the same school in Bhavani Peth.
The two were known to each other and on August 15, the victim went to the second floor of the school to collect the bag. At that time, the accused was hiding near the toilet. As soon as the victim reached the spot, he grabbed her hand and took her to the washroom. The accused made her feel ashamed. Meanwhile, the accused fled the spot.
The girl told her mother about the incident. A case has been registered against the accused, identified as Devraj Padam Agri, after the victim lodged a complaint with us. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway, police said.
