Pune crime court : Man sentenced to 25 years rigorous imprisonment for rape under POCSO Act

The accused has been sentenced to 25 years rigorous imprisonment in a rape case registered under POCSO Act at Hadapsar police station. Pune District and Sessions Judge S.B. B. Rathod).

According to the information received, Prabhakar Suryakant Patil was booked under 376 (2) (E) (1) 354, POCSO 5, 6, 7.8, 10 at Hadapsar police station. The case is being heard by a special court in Shivajinagar, Pune. At this juncture, Supriya Desai / More, and Pathare appeared as public prosecutors.(Pune Crime Court News)


After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the court convicted the accused and sentenced him to 25 years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 25,000 and one year imprisonment in case of non-payment of fine.

Under the guidance of the superintendent of police (SP) Rahul Khade, in charge additional SP Roopchand Waghmare, the action was taken by Reshma Saudagar, Prakash Ghughre, Rajendra Sinkar, Ashok Nagargoje and Chandrakant Shinde. Avinash Gosavi (Pt. Constable) Sambhaji Mhangare (Police Constable) supervised the work.
