Pune: Four people were sentenced to life imprisonment for robbing Rs 65 lakh 57 thousand cash from the armed robbery at the branch of Pune District Central Bank in Rahu village of Daund taluka. Jadhav said. Three of the accused were sentenced to seven years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10 lakh each was also imposed on them. The gang of thieves had robbed banks in Pune, Satara and Nagar districts.

The Pune District Central Bank's Rahu branch was raided at midnight on September 9, 2016. The robbers broke the back wall of the bank by tying the hands and legs of the security guards at nightfall. A gas cutter had broken the strong room and looted Rs 65,57,495. A case was registered in this regard at Yavatmal city police station. A case under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) has been registered against the accused. Special Public Prosecutor Chandrakiran Salvi appeared for the state. There were 14 witnesses in the case. Public prosecutor Salvi argued that various masks, swords, knives, debit cards of different banks, documents of land purchased through illegal means were found in the house of the accused. Police sub-inspector Vidyadhar Nichit assisted in the court proceedings.

Gang leader Sachin Ithape formed an organized crime gang and robbed banks in Pune, Satara and Nagar districts. Investigations revealed that from the proceeds of the robbery, he purchased several lands, income, JCBs, four-wheelers in Chalisgaon, and also opened accounts of the gang members in different banks under different names with the help of fake Aadhaar cards. People have money in the bank. The crime committed by the accused is serious. Special Public Prosecutor Chandrakiran Salvi argued that the proceeds purchased by the accused from the proceeds of robbery should be seized and deposited with the government. The court awarded life imprisonment to the accused.
