Putin Proposes Ceasefire in Ukraine with Conditions for Talks.

Anjali

Russian President Vladimir Putin pledged on Friday to implement a ceasefire in Ukraine and initiate discussions if Ukraine withdraws troops from four annexed areas in 2022 and ditches plans to join NATO. Kyiv finds the suggestion unhelpful due to its desire to join the NATO military alliance. There was no immediate response from Ukraine to Putin's proposition, although Ukraine has previously insisted on Russia withdrawing troops from all its territories.

Putin stated at the Russian Foreign Ministry that numerous world leaders, including G-7 nations, are collaborating to establish peace in Tulum. Switzerland will convene a summit of several world leaders this weekend as part of this endeavor, with Russia notably absent. Putin emphasized that his proposal aims to find a tangible resolution to the Ukraine conflict and expressed Russia's readiness to commence discussions promptly.

The comprehensive peace demands put forth by the Russian president encompass Ukraine's non-nuclear status, limitations on its armed forces, and safeguarding the interests of Russian-speaking individuals in Sukrain.
