In recent months, Manipur has experienced a rise in violent incidents, creating an ongoing atmosphere of tension between two communities. Numerous casualties have been reported, along with cases of arson. Mohan Bhagwat, the Sarsangchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, expressed the need to prioritize ending the violence in Manipur.
During an event in Nagpur, he addressed the situation, emphasizing the importance of resolving the conflict. Bhagwat noted that restoring peace in Manipur, which had enjoyed a decade of stability before recent turmoil, is a paramount concern. He stressed the duty to address the ongoing violence and highlighted the significance of the election process in India.
Bhagwat criticized the current state of election campaigns, citing a decline in ethical standards characterized by mutual abuse, technology misuse, and the spread of fake news. He called for a shift in focus towards addressing the nation's pressing issues.
