Terrorists Attack Patrol Party in Udhampur, CRPF Jawan Dead

Jammu and Kashmir terrorist attack:
There has been a spurt in terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few weeks. A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was killed after terrorists attacked a patrol party in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur district. The deceased CRPF jawan has been identified as Kuldeep Singh.

A joint team of Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were carrying out a cordon-and-search operation in Udhampur. During this, the terrorists started firing. After this, the police and CRPF laid siege to the entire area. One CRPF jawan was injured in the gunfight. He later died while on way to the hospital. Meanwhile, an encounter between security forces and terrorists is underway.

In a tweet, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said, "CRPF personnel were on patrol in Dudu area when they were attacked by terrorists. The security forces also retaliated after the militants fired at them. "One terrorist has been killed in the ongoing encounter between security forces and terrorists," Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a tweet.


The incidents of terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir have been on a rise since past few months. In this backdrop, the Indian Army is on high alert. On August 14, an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district. Army Captain Deepak Singh was martyred in the encounter.

Meanwhile, an anti-terror operation has been launched in Jammu and Kashmir's Udhampur after terrorists opened fire on a team on patrol. More forces have been deployed in the area and a search operation has been launched to nab the terrorists.
