The Shilaphata six-tier flyover on the Kalyan Sheel route now has all lanes open for traffic. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde oversaw the recent opening of the final lanes, facilitating smoother travel to Shilphata Chowk for commuters from Kalyan, Dombivli, Ambernath, Badlapur, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. The Kalyan Sheel Marg is a crucial passageway for residents in the surrounding areas to reach Thane and Navi Mumbai.
To alleviate traffic congestion, the road was expanded to six lanes last year. Additionally, a six-tier flyover was constructed at Shilphata Junction on National Highway No. 48 in Mumbra to expedite travel on this route. MP Dr. Shrikant Shinde oversaw the construction of this bridge through MMRDA, with a total cost of Rs.119 crores.
The flyover, spanning 740 meters and 12 meters wide, has significantly eased traffic for motorists traveling from Badlapur to Dombivali via Kalyan Sheel to Thane and Navi Mumbai, resulting in saved time and fuel.
